A 6-year-old boy was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital after being attacked by the family dog about 5 p.m. Sunday in the 3800 block of Kennedy Circle in Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – A 6-year-old boy was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital after being attacked by a dog about 5 p.m. Sunday in the 3800 block of Kennedy Circle in Cocoa.

According to Brevard County Fire Rescue the victim was bitten on the head and the injury is non-life threatening.

The child was bitten by a neighbor’s dog in the neighbor’s yard, according to Cpl. Dave Jacobs of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department.

According to Cpl. Jacobs, Brevard County Animal Services took the dog away.
