For Dylan O’Shea, being a top scholar at Melbourne’s Florida Prep is just one facet of this dynamic young leader, who also finds caring ways to give back to people in need in his community.

Also honored in May at an Eagle Scout “Court of Honor” ceremony, O’Shea’s Eagle Scout project benefitted the Space Coast Early Intervention Center.

His project at the SCEIC involved early childhood learning through gardening, which consisted of painting wooden planters, growing butterfly plants, installing butterfly houses as shelter and building a raised vegetable garden for the children to plant and learn about vegetable seeds.

A total of 20 scouts, parents and troop leaders spent 113 hours completing the project.

O’Shea is ranked at the top of his class at Florida Prep, is dual enrolled at Florida Tech this Fall and participated in Harvard University’s advanced college classes this summer.

As is the path for many successful young people. O’Shea followed the honorable and disciplined regime of a Scout and has earned an impressive 47 merit badges to date.

O’Shea was also inducted into the Order of the Arrow, which is scouting’s honor society and achieved scouting brotherhood through that organization.

FLORIDA PREP OUTSTANDING LEADER

O’Shea has excelled academically at Florida Prep, among the leading preparatory schools in the nation, achieving straight A’s in all semesters.

Serving as president of the National Junior Honor Society, O’Shea has also led as Secretary of Future Business Leaders of America and received the school’s prestigious Founder’s Club Award earlier this year.”
