EFSC’s Briana Camargo, Wilfred Williams Earn Student-Athlete of Week Honors

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Women’s soccer player Briana Camargo and men’s soccer player Wilfred Williams are the Eastern Florida State College Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Oct. 25.

Camargo, a sophomore midfielder from Ocala, Florida and Trinity Catholic High, set a school single-season record for assists – 17 – in Eastern Florida’s 5-0 victory over Broward College on Oct. 19. She broke the record of 16 set last season by her twin sister Abbie.

Briana Camargo now has a team-high 19 assists while Abbie has 16.

Eastern Florida’s women’s soccer team, ranked No. 1 nationally, is 12-0 and secured its fifth straight postseason berth with the victory against Broward.

Williams scored a goal and anchored the Titans defense on the men’s soccer team as they captured two must-win games. They beat Florida College System Activities Association/NJCAA Region 8 foes Broward College and ASA Miami 4-2 and 6-1 respectively in their drive for a postseason berth.

Eastern Florida improved to 11-1-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the FSCAA/Region 8 and plays Broward in a winner-take-all match at 6 p.m. Friday at the Titan Soccer Complex on the Melbourne Campus.
