BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Maddy Keenan’s first goal as a Panther guided Florida Tech to a 1-0 victory over Lynn (2-7-1, 1-3-0 SSC) Saturday night at Bobby Campbell Stadium.

Keenan, a freshman from Tallahassee, Florida, was starting her seventh game of her collegiate career.

In the fifth minute, she received a pass from Elin Svensson and ripped a shot past Lynn goalkeeper Jensen Wiedmer.

Although the two teams combined for 25 more shots the remainder of the match, Keenan’s goal was the difference in the Panthers’ seventh win of the 2015 campaign.

Julia Kantor recorded her fifth shutout of the season. She made four saves on 15 shots and lowered her goals against average to 0.70 on the new year.

The Panthers now have a week to prepare for a non-conference showdown against Sunshine State Conference provisional member Embry-Riddle. Scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at Rick Stottler Field, the match marks FIT’s annual Kick for the Cure Game for breast cancer awareness. All fans are encouraged to wear pink.
