Free Family Walk For Life At The Avenue Viera Set Nov. 1, Will Focus On Childhood Obesity

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Get moving at The Avenue Viera on Sunday, Nov. 1, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the free Family Walk For Life presented by Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation and Space Coast Daily Medicine and Active Living.
This walk is the first childhood obesity awareness campaign in Brevard County.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than one third of children and adolescents were overweight or obese, and this number is continuing to rise.
The Doctors Goodwill Foundation is a coalition of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, allied health workers, hospitals, healthcare agencies and area businesses who have joined together to improve the health care system – including raising awareness of childhood obesity.
All walkers in the Family Walk For Life will be entered for the chance to win an Apple Watch. In addition, 12 stations will be set up around The Avenue Viera, providing health tips.
Each walker will receive a free T-shirt and goody bag and be sure to to stop by and get a free health screening as well.
