Palm Bay police have announced that Turner Elementary School in Palm Bay has been placed on lockdown status, and Southwest Middle School was evacuated after a bomb threat about 11 a.m. Friday.

Statement From Chastity Serrano, Palm Bay Community Information Coordinator:

At approximately 11 a.m. today, school officials at Southwest Middle School located at 451 Eldron Boulevard SE, received a call from a suspect who stated there was a bomb inside of the school.

Palm Bay Police Department responded to the call. The school was immediately evacuated, and shortly after, the Brevard County Sherriff’s Office Bomb Canines searched the school.

The canines did not locate a bomb. Students and faculty were allowed back into the school at approximately 1:10 p.m.

Turner Elementary Locked Down, Southwest Middle School Evacuated Due To Bomb Threat

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay police have announced that Turner Elementary School in Palm Bay has been placed on lockdown status, and Southwest Middle School was evacuated after a bomb threat about 11 a.m. Friday.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad is on scene with bomb-sniffing dogs.
