BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Industry leader NYK, operator of the world’s largest fleet of vehicle carrier ships, brought its Neptune Leader into Port Canaveral on October 11.

The maiden visit in a new monthly service that will collect used vehicles from throughout Florida and the Southeast U.S. for export to Central and South America.

The ship will arrive in Central Florida each month from Baltimore and Newark on its way to Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Columbia, Panama, Costa Rico, Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico.

NYK’s premier Leader class of vessels is capable of carrying up to 7,500 standard cars and engineered also to handle heavy-duty cargo such as plant equipment, agricultural and construction machinery.
