59-Year-Old Cocoa Man Killed Monday In Motorcycle vs. Car Crash On SR 520

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 59-year old Cocoa man was killed, and a 64-year old Cocoa woman was critically injured on Monday about 2 p.m. when their motorcycle collided with a car on State Road 520 at Satellite Boulevard.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Tiffany Esser, 27, of Cocoa, was stopped southbound on Satellite Boulevard at the intersection of State Road 520.
Meanwhile, the motorcyclist and his female passenger were traveling westbound on State Road 520 in the right through-lane.
Esser, who was driving a 2003 Chevy Impala, attempted to make a left turn to travel eastbound on State Road 520 and traveled into the direct path of the motorcycle.
The front of the motorcycle struck the left side of Esser’s car and both occupants of the motorcycle were ejected.
Neither the driver or the passenger of the motorcycle were wearing helmets and the crash remains under investigation by FHP.
Essner received minor injuries and was taken to Wuesthoff Medical Center for treatment.
The identity of the occupants of the motorcycle have not been released pending notification of next-of-kin.
