FIT’s Antwuan Haynes Named National Player of the Week by USA College Football

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The accolades keep rolling in for Florida Tech running back Antwuan Haynes after his stellar performance in FIT’s 28-24 win over Shorter last Saturday.

On Wednesday, the Panther back was named the National Player of the Week by USA College Football.

Haynes was named the Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week on Monday.

The speedster was paramount in FIT’s most recent win, putting the team on his back with top rushers Trevor Sand and Gary Holmes out with injuries. Haynes set new school records in the contest with 242 yards rushing and 28 carries.

The Panther back also found the end zone once, knotting the game at 7-7 midway through the first quarter.

The Panthers are once again at home this Saturday, locking horns with GSC leader and No. 1 ranked West Georgia at 1 p.m. ET at Florida Tech Panther Stadium. The contest not only marks FIT’s Senior Day but is also the Panthers’ annual Homecoming Game.

As the GSC-TV Game of the Week, presented by Florida’s Space Coast, the game will be broadcasted live on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.
