BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – On the eve of the Junior League of South Brevard’s 31st Annual Festival of Trees, members and their spouses and significant others gathered to celebrate their hard work and enjoy themselves at a festive but casual event.
Dubbed “Tacky Tapas and Trees,” it was an open invitation to dress up in unusual, funny and yes, just plain tacky sweaters.
A full day sale of holiday decorations, wreaths, poinsettias, decorated Christmas trees donated by members of the community and home- made foodstuffs and baked goods took place the following day.
The event gave guests an opportunity to preview the beautifully designed Christmas trees and wreaths and be the first to “buy it now” instead of losing out at the auction.
All proceeds from the party and the sale benefitted the Junior League of South Brevard, Inc.’s current community projects: Fueling Kids and Kids in the Kitchen, focusing on Improving the Health of Children through Nutrition and Physical Activity.
