Titusville Police Identifies Gary William Dasher As Victim In Fatal Traffic Incident

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Titusville Police Department has identified Titusville resident Gary William Dasher, 57, as the bicyclist in the traffic fatality that occurred on Thursday.

Titusville police identified the driver of the vehicle as Titusville resident Bradley Armando Ravelo, 22, who immediately stopped and cooperated with the investigation.

According to Special Operations Lt. Tom House of the Titusville Police Department, their preliminary investigation continues and there were several witnesses to the incident. No charges have been filed in the case thus far.

Dasher was struck and killed on Thursday at 5:46 p.m. in the 900 block of N. Washington Avenue, according to Lt. House.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that an adult male bicyclist exited the main entrance/exit of Parrish Medical Center into the path of a Dodge Charger that was traveling northbound,” said Lt. House in a prior release.

“The driver of the vehicle attempted to swerve to miss the bicyclist but was unsuccessful. Titusville Fire and Emergency Services provided emergency medical treatment, but the bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Ravelo stopped to assist and is cooperating with investigators, according to Lt. House.

The final results of the investigation will be released by the Traffic Homicide Investigator at the conclusion of his investigation.
