Dr. Sheldon K. Cho has joined Florida Pain Institute and is now seeing patients in Titusville and Merritt Island.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Dr. Sheldon K. Cho has joined Florida Pain Institute and is now seeing patients in Titusville and Merritt Island.

After spending more than 10 years practicing medicine on the West Coast, Dr. Cho decided to bring his medical expertise to Florida Pain Institute. He is a board certified Anesthesiologist with subspecialty qualifications in interventional pain medicine and substance abuse.

“I extremely happy to join the team of Physicians at Florida Pain Institute, and to call Florida home,” said Dr. Cho.

Some of Dr. Cho’s key areas of interest along with Interventional and Cancer Pain Management include various procedures under fluoroscopy including spinal cord stimulator trail and implant, spine Kyphoplasty, RFA, facet joint block, and epidural block.

He is also an Active member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), and an American Society of Interventional of Pain Physician (ASIPP).

Dr. Cho was born in Seoul Korea and received his Bachelors of Science degree from Seoul National University in 1988. He then continued his collegiate career at Seoul National University’s College of Medicine, graduating in 1992.

After graduation, he interned in Long Island New York for several years at Nassau University Medical Center, Department of Surgery. He remained at Nassau University Medical Center, where he completed his residency with the Department of Anesthesiology in 1998. He then completed a Cancer Pain Medicine fellowship in New York, New York with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Anesthesiology Department.

Dr. Cho continued his medical career as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Rochester Medical center, specializing in anesthesia regional block and pain medicine. In 2004 he moved to San Francisco California to take a position as a Clinical Professor at UCSF for the next four years.

Dr. Cho later went on to become the Medical Director at Anapa Pain Clinic in Los Angeles, specializing in Interventional Pain Management. While working at Anapa Pain Clinic, he served dual roles as the Medical Director at California Detox Clinic, where he specialized in addiction management.

pain-certifications-250-1Dr. Cho’s certifications and qualifications include: American Board of Anesthesiology Certified; ASA, Pain Management Subspecialty; American Board of Pain Medicine Certified; American Board of Interventional Pain Physician; and American Board of Addiction Medicine Certified.
