Melbourne Police Arrest Suspect After Victim Catches Man Burglarizing His Vehicle

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police have arrested Jason Wayne Walling for burglary to a conveyance when the victim caught him in his vehicle rifling through the contents near the 1100 block on Shenandoah Drive in Melbourne.

Walling, 38, was caught when the victim was in his residence, he noticed his car door open and someone in his vehicle. The victim went out and confronted Walling who then fled on foot.

The victim chased him for a short distance. A perimeter was set up and Walling was located a short distance away and positively identified by the victim.

Walling is a multiple convicted felon with an arrest history for burglary and is designated as a prison release reoffender.
