Brevard County Fire Rescue Responds To Aircraft Crash At Merritt Island Airport

PILOT UNINJURED, REFUSED TREATMENT

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue units Engine 43, Rescue 43 and District 40 responded to an aircraft crash at the Merritt Island Airport on Sunday morning about 10:15 a.m.

BCFR said the aircraft, a Cessna 172 4-seater, ran off the runway and overturned. The craft’s pilot was the sole occupant of the plane and refused treatment.

There was no fuel leak and an investigation is underway by authorities.
