Winner Announced At Chamber’s 48th Annual Gala

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce presented Brenda Fettrow their 2016 Distinguished Service Award during the chamber’s 48th Annual Gala, held underneath Space Shuttle Atlantis at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

The Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce was established in 1968 as a voice for Brevard’s business community and serves Cape Canaveral, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, Patrick Air Force Base, Port St. John, Rockledge, Suntree and Viera.

“I was thrilled with the Distinguished Service Award committee’s decision this year, and could not think of a more deserving honoree than Dr. Fettrow,” said Jennifer Sugarman, president and chief executive officer of the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The Distinguished Service Award has been awarded by the Cocoa Beach Chamber each year since 1985 to community-minded individuals who has provided consistent and unrelenting efforts with their time, talent and treasure on the Space Coast.

“I am completely shocked and honored to win this award,” said Fettrow, who is currently the district vice president of the YMCA of Central Florida.

During the gala, the Chamber celebrated its success during 2015 while inducting new Chairman of the Board Joe Mayer, who is the Director of Government Relations for Florida for Lockheed Martin, as well as the 2016 Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

“The Chamber’s ‘Launching New Tomorrow’s’ themed gala was a wonderful event to kick off a new year of opportunity and growth for our community,” said Mayer.
