Eastern Florida State Blanks Florida State College Jacksonville 1-0, Calvo Throws 8 Strong Innings

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida ace right-hander Blair Calvo pitched 8 2/3 innings of two-hit baseball, striking out 13 batters along the way to lift the Titans to a 1-0 victory at Florida State College Jacksonville on Monday.

The victory broke a three-game losing streak, lifting the Titans to 7-4 overall. FSCJ fell to 2-9.

Tim Luth finished up for Calvo, striking out the only batter he faced.

Ian Lisle scored the game’s only run in the fourth inning. The Titans collected five hits.

“That was a dominating performance,” Eastern Florida head coach Jeff Tam said of Calvo.

“He was in complete control the entire day. It’s fun to watch a guy work like that.”

Next up for the Titans is a 5 p.m. Tuesday home game against Polk State at Bruce Bochy Field on the Melbourne Campus.
