Eastern Florida State Softball Splits Doubleheader With Lake-Sumter State

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The pendulum swung both ways for Eastern Florida’s softball team on Saturday.

Playing at the National Training Center in Clermont the Titans beat Lake-Sumter State 16-7 in the first game of their doubleheader but fell 13-0 in the second game.

Alexia Snyder was the winning pitcher in the first game. Rosie Lyard went 3-for-5 with two doubles, Taylor Zitiello hit a two-run home run and Sarah Hart added a double as did Karli Smith, Hannah Roberts and Carly Nicholas.

The Titans scored 10 runs in the seventh inning for the victory.

Smith took the loss in the second game. Roberts hit a double.

The Titans stand at 5-13 heading into Tuesday’s doubleheader at Daytona State College.

Lake-Sumter is 6-21.
