EFSC Titans’ C.J. Jackson Honored With NJCAA Region 8 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

EFSC Went 3-0 During point guards impressive play

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida point guard C.J. Jackson is the NJCAA Region 8 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 31.

Jackson, a freshman from Charlotte, North Carolina and Montverde Academy averaged 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 3 steals in three games during the voting period.

Jackson shot 51.3 percent (20-of-39) from the field, 52.4 percent (11-of-21) from beyond the arc and 63.2 percent (12-of-19) from the free throw line.

Not only was Jackson an offensive force but he showed off his defensive prowess on the glass recording a double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds) in win at ASA Miami.

Against Indian River State, Jackson poured in a career-high 44 points while shooting 15-of-25 from the field and 9-of-14 from long distance. The Titans went 3-0 in FCSAA Southern Conference games on the road during Jackson’s stellar play.

“What an amazing week by C.J. Jackson, with one of the best performances in the history of Eastern Florida basketball,” said Eastern Florida head coach Jeremy Shulman.

“Outstanding young man and very deserving of this honor.”

This is the second time this season Jackson has received the honor, the first time being in November for pacing the Titans to three wins in the Snow College Classic in Utah.

Eastern Florida is 9-0 in the conference and 21-3 overall heading into today’s 6 p.m. home game against Miami Dade College.
