FIT’s Kenny Johnston, J.J. Sanders Named Don Hansen All-Americans

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – In recognition of their outstanding seasons, Florida Tech’s Kenny Johnston and J.J. Sanders have been named to the Don Hansen Football Committee NCAA Division II All-America Team.

Johnston garnered the lone tight end spot on the third team following a season in which he caught a Gulf South Conference best 10 touchdowns. The Jacksonville, Florida native hauled in 43 passes for 787 yards, third most in the conference.

Sanders was bestowed with an honorable mention selection after his first season as a defensive end. The GSC’s Defensive Player of the Year led the conference in tackles for loss 18.0 and tied for third in sacks with 6.5. Sanders tallied 59 total tackles in 2015, second most on the team.

FIT is in the midst of its spring practice schedule. Spring practice will run through March 2, with the annual Spring Game taking place on March 3 at 7 p.m. at Florida Tech Panther Stadium.
