Brevard Zoo’s Newest Female Baby Giraffe Has Already Becomes A Big Sister

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – At just four months, it’s hard to believe Johari’s calf is already a big sister.

Brevard Zoo’s Johari gave birth to a female, who has yet to be named, on November 29.

Earlier in March, the tallest giraffe ever was born at the Brevard Zoo.

At birth, the male calf stood at 6-feet-4 inches after a gestation period that lasted more than a year.

The 14-year-old mother, Milenna and the calf will remain behind the scenes for several weeks.

Both baby giraffes share the same father, Rafiki, who is 17 years old.
