BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The West Shore Jr./Sr. High School Chamber Orchestra was one of just 21 orchestra programs in the country, and the only orchestra from Florida, to participate in the National Orchestra Festival in Tampa on Saturday.

Participation in the annual three-day Orchestra Festival is by invitation-only. Orchestra programs are selected to participate based on their application and audition tapes.

The students were able to attend hands-on music education classes during the Festival, which is organized by the American String Teachers Association.

West Shore students held a number of fundraisers this year, including an evening Dessert Concert and a Honey Baked Ham Holiday fundraiser, to earn enough funds to participate in the festival.

West Shore’s Chamber Orchestra is led by Concert Master Yoosang Park, a sophomore, and Orchestra and Theatre Director Maureen Fallon.
