UPDATE: APRIL 27, 2016, 6:45 P.M.

A three-car crash backed up traffic for miles on Wednesday afternoon about 5 p.m. on both southbound and northbound lanes on U.S. 1, just south of Viera Boulevard.

A female in her late 20s to early 30s was discovered in one of the vehicles unconscious, and transported to the hospital by First Fight, according to the Florida Highway Patrol and Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

The occupants involved in the other vehicles refused treatment.

Traffic is now moving as both the Florida Highway Patrol and Brevard County Sheriff’s Office work the crash scene.

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Traffic is at a stand-still and backed up for miles on the northbound U.S. 1 lanes just south of Viera Boulevard due to an apparent vehicle crash.

Witnesses report that First Flight is on the scene, and authorities advise motorist to avoid the area.
