Edgewood Jr./Sr. High In Merritt Island Ranks As Top Central Florida High School

Ranked 30th out of 19,908 public high schools

Edgewood Jr./Sr. High recently ranked 30th in the nation and fourth in Florida on U.S. News and World Report's 2016 Best High Schools rankings, which evaluated data from 19,908 public high schools to identify which schools are best at preparing students for college and careers. BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Edgewood Jr./Sr. High recently ranked 30th in the nation and fourth in Florida on U.S. News and World Report‘s 2016 Best High Schools rankings, which evaluated data from 19,908 public high schools to identify which schools are best at preparing students for college and careers.

The rankings are based on student performance statistics, state comparison of minority and low-income students’ performance, and graduation rate benchmarks.

West Shore Jr./Sr. High also made it into the top 100 high schools, ranking 54th in the U.S. and 8th in Florida.

Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High, the top scoring neighborhood (non-choice) high school in Brevard County, placed 601st in the U.S. and 38th among Florida high schools.
