An exciting month is planned at the Enchanted Forest Sanctuary! Please join us for one of the many programs and events we are offering. All events are free. The Enchanted Forest Sanctuary is located at 444 Columbia Blvd, Titusville.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – We have an exciting month planned at the Enchanted Forest Sanctuary.  

Every Saturday at 10 a.m.Guided Walk

Enjoy a 45-minute guided hike.  Please bring hat, water and walking shoes. No reservation needed, unless you are a group of 5 or more.

The Enchanted Forest Sanctuary is looking for dynamic individuals with a passion for the environment,  Come learn about the various volunteer opportunities.

Saturday, April 9

9:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.Swamp Walk

Explore the wetland habitats of the Enchanted Forest through a 2-hour guided swamp walk. Participants should be comfortable walking on very uneven terrain and getting wet and muddy.  Bring old shoes that you can get wet and muddy, and that fasten securely to your feet (if you can take your shoe off with your opposite foot, it is too loose, and you will lose it in the mud!) and bug spray.  Spots limited, registration is required.  Call 321.264.5185.

2 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.Reptile & Snake Presentation

Learn about some of the Enchanted Forest’s reptile residents and meet a red rat snake!

National Volunteer Week

April 10th – April 16th is National Volunteer Week!  We will be celebrating with a couple of programs and events.  Volunteers or guests interested in becoming a volunteer are welcome to join in on the fun!  Please RSVP by calling 321.264.5185.  Below are the planned activities (come to one or all, it’s up to you):

Sunday, April 10, 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – Volunteer Hike at EFS

Enjoy a hike alongside other volunteers.  This is an excellent opportunity to share knowledge with each other!

Tuesday, April 12, 2 p.m. – Volunteer Afternoon Tea

Bring a treat to share and your favorite tea cup!  Enjoy an afternoon tea with your fellow volunteers.

Thursday, April 14, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Sams House at Pine Island Field Trip

Enjoy a guided tour of Sams House at Pine Island!  There will be a talk about the house and cabin, a guided hike, and bring your lunch to enjoy under the large oak trees!  We will meet at Sams House at Pine Island (6195 N. Tropical Trail, Merritt Island, FL 32953).

April’s theme is Earth Day!  It’s never too early to reduce, reuse, and recycle!  Get your littles involved with conservation through a story and hands-on activities!  Spots limited.  Please call 321.264.5185 to register.

All levels of photographers welcome. View photographs and learn helpful tips during their monthly meeting.

Sunday, April 17, 2 p.m. – 4:00pm – Forest Funday – Macro Critters!

Children and families are invited to explore pond life and aquatic macro invertebrates with hands on experiments and a craft between 2:00pm and 4:00pm.

Wednesday, April 20, noon – 1 p.m. – Lunch with Nature – “Florida Scrub Jays”

Jonny Baker from Brevard Zoo will be discussing Florida Scrub Jay biology, conservation, and describe the current Brevard Zoo Florida Scrub Jay program.

Saturday, April 23, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Earth Day Festival

Guest of all ages are invited to celebrate Earth Day at the Enchanted Forest Sanctuary!  Explore environmental exhibitors, guided walks, meet live animals, listen to special guest presentations, discover local flora and fauna and conservation techniques with hands-on activities, enjoy live music, and more!  Event is FREE!

Wednesday, April 27, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. – FNPS Sea Rocket Chapter Meeting – “Native Shrubs for Central Florida Landscaping”

Dr. David Hall, forensic and plant expert and former Director of Plant Identification and Information Services at the University of Florida, will be discussing the use of Native Shrubs in landscaping yards in the Central Florida area.  Light refreshments served at6:30pm, meeting and presentation will start at 7:00pm.

Saturday, April 30, 3:30 p.m. – Sunday, May 1, 12 p.m. – Fox Lake Overnight Kayak Adventure

Guided overnight kayak canoe trip at the Fox Lake Sanctuary. Includes a guided hike to learn about the management of the sanctuary and a nocturnal owl hike.  Cost is $10 per person. A limited supply of kayaks are available on a first come first served basis. Reservations are required. Participants are responsible for their own camping gear, food and water. A truck will be available to transport gear to the campsite. Participants will paddle to the campsite Saturday afternoon and paddle back to the boat ramp on Sunday morning.

Participants need to bring all gear and food for Saturday night dinner and Sunday breakfast. Sunscreen, sun hat and insect repellent are also recommended.

Participants must be at least 14 years old and accompanied by a parent if under 18.
