Palm Bay police officers responded to the area of Babcock Street and Dawn Street around 1 a.m. Tuesday after a taxi driver called 9-1-1 and said he had been shot.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay police officers responded to the area of Babcock Street and Dawn Street around 1 a.m. Tuesday after a taxi driver called 9-1-1 and said he had been shot.

According to Karyn Barber, Community Information Coordinator for the Palm Bay Police Department, the victim was located inside his vehicle, alone with several gunshot wounds.

At this time it is unknown where the shooting took place and no crime scene has been established.

The victim, who has not been identified at this time by authorities, was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.
