BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – District 3 Brevard County Commission Candidate Andrea Young is originally from Minnesota and moved to Brevard County in 2002 to care for her father, a 93-year old World War II veteran.

Young has a dual degree in Business Administration Accounting and Finance and Management. She graduated summa cum laude from AIU in 2006.

She now has a career in mortgage underwriting and banking, and as a past residential title agent, Young is well versed in reading property surveys, legal descriptions, land plat drawings and building contractor contracts.

Elected in November 2009 to the West Melbourne City Council, Young has contributed to the City of West Melbourne budget process for the past seven years.

“As a result of careful budget planning, residents enjoy the second lowest city tax in the state of Florida for a city of similar size,” said Young.

Young says that she is committed to Brevard County, and if elected to the commission, will work full time as a commissioner.

“Anything less than 100 percent focus on Brevard County District 3 is not acceptable,” said Young.  “Brevard County District 3 residents deserve a commissioner that is loyal only to them but still able to work well with all Brevard County issues.”
