BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Top journalists and editors throughout Central Florida met at the Space Coast FPRA Annual Media Summit on Thursday at the Canaveral Port Authority Maritime Center to discuss the latest happenings in the media industry.
Participating organizations included the AmericaSpace, the Associated Press (AP), Brevard Business News, CBS Radio, Central Florida News 13, CNN, Orlando Business Journal, Florida Today, Florida News Network Radio/iHeart Radio, FOX35 News Orlando WOFL, Orlando Sentinel, Space Coast Business, Space Coast Daily, Space Coast Living, Space Coast Daily Medicine and Active Living, Spaceflight Insider, Viera Voice and WFTV 9 ABC.
The presentation also featured two keynote speakers, the first was Alyson Lundell, Director of Corporate Communications for Universal Orlando Resort.
Lundell presented a case study, sharing insight into the challenges and opportunities that Universal Orlando has embraced when presented with the openings of both The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade (2010) and Diagon Alley (2014).
The second keynote speaker was Steve Helling, Senior Correspondent with People Magazine, who provided insight on what PR professionals need to know when pitching to the national media.
The event was sponsored by and held at Canaveral Port Authority Maritime Center.
“This is very valuable (meeting). It really helps us, as PR practitioners, how best to work with the media and know what they are looking for. The turnout was excellent,” said Rebecca Crisafulli.
“We have a great mix of broadcast, print and online. This is representative of the media in this county and Central Florida.”
