BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – It was championship night in Rockledge as the Viera Hawks and Rockledge Raiders squared off for the District 21 championship in boys lacrosse.

Viera (12-3) defeated Rockledge (12-6) 11-7 Wednesday night to claim the championship.

“We graduated 14 (players) last year so this is a big deal for us,” said Viera Head Coach Charles Crawford.

“We thought this was going to be a rebuilding year but here we are, 12-3 and we just won the district championship.”

“The seniors did a great job,” said Crawford.

The Hawks will now advance to the next round to face the district 22 champion, who has yet to be determined.

Viera will either play Holy Trinity or Melbourne Central Catholic in the next round of the playoffs. District play wraps up Friday.
