By Space Coast Daily // May 4, 2016
The Florida Lottery had its strongest start ever to the last quarter of the fiscal year, with record sales for the month of April totaling $513 million, an all-time record high.
Ticket sales during the month of April generated approximately $130 million in contributions to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
The Lottery’s April sales figures represent all product offerings, with Scratch-Off sales being primarily responsible for the record numbers. Sales of Scratch-Off tickets alone exceeded $350 million, boosted with the recent launch of the new WHEEL OF FORTUNE game, which surpassed $26.8 million.
“With the support of our players, retailers, vendors and employees, the Florida Lottery has once again achieved record sales,” said Lottery Secretary Tom Delacenserie.
“These sales are translating into millions of dollars for education. Moving forward, the Florida Lottery will continue to create new and exciting games that will help maximize revenue for education.”
