BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Health First announced Thursday the opening of its new Breast Center located on the north end of Health First Medical Group’s Gateway location at 1223 Gateway Drive in Melbourne.

The Health First Breast Center offers state-of-the-art screening and diagnostic mammography, tomosynthesis (3D) mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, breast biopsy and pre-surgical procedures.

Patients have access to highly trained and experienced breast surgeons.

The Breast Center offers a comprehensive breast program with specialists managing every phase of care. Patients receive state-of-the-art, coordinated, multi-disciplinary care in a compassionate and supportive environment.

“With advances in breast imaging, we are able to diagnose breast cancers at earlier stages,” said Health First Medical Group CEO Dr. Jeffrey Stalnaker.

“The new Health First Breast Center uses advanced technologies and treatments, ensuring our patients a comprehensive, timely and personalized approach to breast health.”

In addition to an experienced team of medical professionals, including specialized breast imaging radiologists, the Breast Center also provides a nurse navigator to help patients and their families as an advocate, support system and resource provider guiding them compassionately through the process.

The Health First Breast Program Clinical Committee recommends annual screening mammograms for women over the age of 40 without other significant risk factors.
