Riverwalk - A Family Park, located at 5355 U.S. Highway 1 in Rockledge, was among 15 parks nationwide named as a recipient for a $20,000 grant from the Parks Build Community Contest.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA  – Riverwalk – A Family Park, located at 5355 U.S. Highway 1 in Rockledge, was among 15 parks nationwide named as a recipient for a $20,000 grant from the Parks Build Community Contest.

The grant from the National Recreation and Parks Association will fund building of Nature Explore, a nature-based outdoor classroom that connects children with nature.

By providing safe places to get active, enjoy nature, preserve the environment and bring people together, our parks are essential to our health and well being.

The grant was awarded following a month of voting that occurred throughout April. Brevard County residents who took part in the voting helped secure the grant.
