BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police Officers responded to 2901 Garden Terrance NE on Friday in response to a vehicle that drove into a residence.

The driver, 19-year-old Kimoya Spence, was being taught how to drive in the church parking lot across from the residence.

According to Palm Bay Police Lt. Mike Bandish, Spence accelerated and driving instructor Royal James, 56, tried to gain control of the vehicle, but they collided with a vehicle in the driveway, which the crashed into the garage area of the residence.

According to Lt. Bandish, there was no one home and the passengers of the vehicle were not injured, but there was significant damage to the residence. The Palm Bay Fire Department and the building inspector were both notified.

Both Spence and James were cited by Palm Bay Police Officer Justin Hill.
