13-Year-Old Child Shot In Melbourne Early Monday Morning, Police Investigating

Melbourne police officers patrolling the area of Gibbs Street and Monroe Street early Tuesday morning at 12:49 a.m. heard the sounds of gunshots and discovered a male teenage victim while searching the area.
Melbourne Police are investigating a shooting that involved a 13-year-old child early Monday morning in Melbourne on the corner of Grant Street and University Boulevard.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police are investigating a shooting that involved a 13-year-old child early Monday morning around 5 a.m. in Melbourne on the corner of Grant Street and University Boulevard.

When officers arrived they found the wounded child and immediately rendered medical aid.

The initial reports indicate that a dark colored sedan was involved in the shooting.

At this point the Melbourne Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit is actively working the case.

The condition of the child is not yet known at this time.
