The District 22 Tournament of Champions got under way Wednesday night.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The District 22 Tournament of Champions got under way Wednesday night.

The Major baseball teams from Mims Little League (visitors) and Indian River City Little League (home) met at Holder Park in Mims.

For Indian River City, Austin Raulerson had a single and 2 RBI, while Mims’ Blake Lind had a home run and Connor Henderson and Kyle Amick added triples in Mims’ 15 – 2 win in 5 innings.

At Rockledge’s McKnight Family Sports Complex, North Merritt Island Little League (visitors) had an 11 – 1 win over Rockledge Little League in 7 full innings of Junior Baseball.

Also at McKnight, Major Softball started with Port St. John Little League (visitors) meeting Cocoa Little League. Haley Butler and Kambrie Haynes both had home runs to lift the Port St. John girls to a 21 – 7 win.

Meanwhile, at Cocoa’s Stradley Park, Cocoa Little League’s (visitors) Makenzie Morrison went 3-for-4 while North Merritt Island Little League’s (home) Hailiegh Stephenson hit a homer. But in the end, Cocoa won 4 – 3 in 7 innings.

While in Senior Baseball, North Merritt Island Little League won a seven inning game 7 – 5 over Cocoa Little League (home).
