BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The ancient Japanese art of bonsai is returning to Brevard Zoo.

Bonsai Weekend, conducted with the Bonsai Society of Brevard, is slated to run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 13 and 14 at the Zoo’s Nyami Nyami River Lodge.

The event, which is included with Zoo admission, will feature dozens of miniature trees, bonsai care demonstrations and vendors selling bonsai plants and accessories.

A workshop for children ages 10-17 is scheduled ­for 1-3 p.m. on August 13.

A $25 registration fee, which includes a tree to take home, is required; registration is available at www.brevardzoo.org/bonsai-weekend
