BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – The five-member Brevard County School Board passed a controversial LGBT anti-discrimination policy 3-2 during a meeting in Viera on Tuesday.

School board members voting in favor of the policy were Andy Ziegler, Misty Belford and Amy Kneessy. Those opposing the new policy were John Craig and Karen Henderson.

Current school district policy defines harassment and nondiscrimination toward employees but does not specifically mention LGBT individuals.
