BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Earlier this week two of our West Precinct Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Cocoa Mom for a minor traffic violation.
During the traffic stop the Deputies realized that Mom and her family were experiencing some extremely tough times and were down on their luck in dealing with some personal issues.
At that point Deputy Sean Cronin and FTO Anthony Gonnelly took it upon themselves to reach out to our Community Services Team to solicit help to find a new car seat for the family who has an infant child.
After receiving the call for assistance, Tonja Tucker and Valerie Sauro of our Community Services Unit worked together to locate a car seat and then went shopping for groceries for Mom and her family.
Deputy Cronin, FTO Gonnelly, Tonja, and Val then delivered the items to the family later that afternoon so that a family in need could have some help during a tough time in their lives.
While the team was able to get the Car Seat donated, they took the money from their own pockets to pay for the groceries because of their compassion for others and because they each realize that at any given moment in life it could be one of us that experiences a tough time.
It is actions like this and many others that make me so proud of the men and women of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office who do everything they can to protect our community.
Like me, they also know how fortunate we are to have a community that takes care of us while partnering together to make Brevard County an awesome place to call home!!
Please join me in commending the actions of Deputy Cronin, FTO Gonnelly, Tonja Tucker, and Val Sauro for going above and beyond to help one of our’s in a time of need!!
