Brittany Thornton, 26, of Titusville was killed in a single vehicle crash on U.S. 1 and Kings Highway on Saturday about 5:55 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

BREVARD COUNTY • PORT ST. JOHN, FLORIDA – Brittany Thornton, 26, of Titusville was killed in a single vehicle crash on U.S. 1 and Kings Highway on Saturday about 5:55 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to Sgt. Kim Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol, Thorton was driving a 2005 Nissan 4-door vehicle northbound on U.S. 1, when for an unknown reason, she failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and traveled off of the road, striking a mailbox and tree.

Thorton was transported to Parrish Medical Center and pronounced dead.

This crash remains under investigation.
