Cocoa Beach Karate Dojo Educates Summer Campers On Assault Prevention And Self Defense

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Almost 100 local Cocoa Beach summer campers, counselors and karate instructors participated in a special assault prevention and self defense seminar as part of the City of Cocoa Beach’s Summer Camp Program.

Kids were taught basic assault prevention and self defense strategies and techniques by members of the Cocoa Beach Karate Dojo and received a special Certificate of Completion at the end.

“We teach the kids how to avoid confrontations and potential assault situations and how to defend if necessary” said Cocoa Beach Karate School director, Sensei Des Chaskelson.

“We do not charge for this seminar and provide our services as part of our commitment to giving back to the community” said Chaskelson.

Cocoa Beach karate has been providing karate classes and seminars for the City of Cocoa Beach at their Recreation Center since 2002.
