BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – With the 2016 volleyball season just around the corner, Florida Tech head coach Amy O’Brien announced the Panthers’ 29-match slate, including 13 home contests at the Clemente Center.

Entering her fifth season at the helm of the volleyball program, O’Brien guided the Panthers to an overall record of 13-16 in 2015, including a 4-12 mark in the Sunshine State Conference.

Florida Tech kicks off the regular season and home slate on Sep. 2-3 with the second annual Panther Invitational, held at the Clemente Center. The Crimson & Gray is set to battle Georgia College, Wilmington and Puerto Rico-Mayaguez over the two day event.

The following weekend, the Panthers will compete in the Hyatt Place Bash at the Beach, hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic, where they will face off against McKendree, Washburn, Lee and Ferris State on Sep. 9-10.

FIT squares off with SSC provisional member Embry-Riddle on Sep. 13 to open the conference slate before returning home for its SSC home opener against Rollins on Sep. 16.

The Panthers will play 20 matches over the final two months of the season, including 18 games against SSC competition, nine of which are at home, and two contests against Gulf South Conference opponents as part of the South Region Crossover on Oct. 14-15.

The NCAA South Region Tournament is expected to begin on Dec. 1 with the NCAA Tournament beginning a week later in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
