Major Baseball pool play continued Saturday morning at Mims' Holder Park with Port St. John Little League taking on Merritt Island.

Major Baseball Pool Play beat the rain Sunday afternoon with a game between Mims Little League and Merritt Island Little League.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Major Baseball Pool Play beat the rain Sunday afternoon with a game between Mims Little League and Merritt Island Little League.

MERRITT ISLAND 11, MIMS 1: For Mims, Logan Wurtzbacher drove in a run with a RBI single. Matthew Hutchins and Austin Roberts each added singles.

Merritt Island’s Grant Paparella and Anthony Cartagena each had 2 run homers and Bobby Ives went 2-for-2 with a solo homer. Rylan Diaz and Meric Collins each had RBI doubles while Tyler Coutu had 4 strikeouts and picked up the 11-1 win in 3 1/2 innings.

District 22 All-Star play took a break for the July 4th holiday and resumes with pool play in the Major and Junior Baseball divisions on Wednesday.
