Attempted to Burglarize Greenwise Motors

ABOVE VIDEO: The Melbourne Police Department arrested four suspects early Thursday morning after the suspects attempted to break into Greenwise Motors on New Haven Ave. in Melbourne then lead police on a vehicle chase, and finally, a foot chase.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Melbourne Police Department arrested four suspects early Thursday morning after the suspects attempted to break into Greenwise Motors on New Haven Ave. in Melbourne then lead police on a vehicle chase, and finally, a foot chase.

Melbourne police were called to Greenwise Motors after employees at the Crane Creek Reserve Golf Course heard loud noises coming from the business which was closed at the time.

As police arrived on scene, they located a white Dodge Charger fleeing the establishment but as officers attempted a traffic stop on Dairy Rd., the chase began as suspects then led police on the chase.

Melbourne police deployed spikes on Dairy Rd. to slow down the vehicle and successfully flattened three out of the four tires bringing the vehicle to a stop on Riveria Dr. in Palm Bay.

Police were able to immediately arrest the driver suspect after suspects fled the vehicle into Riveria Key’s neighborhood.

The other three suspects were later captured after they attempted to hide in garbage cans and then tried to break into a residence, however, all were arrested before they could inflict any harm to any citizens or residences.

Three suspects were identified as 16-year-old black males from Titusville and one suspect identified as 20-year-old Mario Alberto Sharp of Melbourne. All were charged with burglary, resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding and  burglary to an occupied dwelling.

Melbourne Police, Palm Bay Police and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Aviation Unit all assisted in the chase.
