District 22 Hosted Section 3 Tournaments On Saturday

MERRITT ISLAND 24, NOL 1: The last game of the tournament pitted Navy Ortega Lakeshore and Merritt Island against each other in a winner advance final. The offense belonged to Merritt Island as Kide Adetuyi hit a home run while Robert Myer went 2-for-5 at the plate scoring 5 runs and Aiden Fowks went 2-for-4, scoring 4 runs. Merritt Island won 24-1 in 3 1/2 innings.

Merritt Island Little League advances to the State of Florida Tournament to be held at Chaires-Capitola Little League in Tallahassee, starting July 15.

LAKESHORE 3, PALM COAST 2: In the first game, the District 19 Champions from Palm Coast Little League met the District 11 Champions from Navy Ortega Lakeshore Little League. It was a close game that in the end was won by Navy Ortega Lakeshore by a score of 3-2 in 5 1/2 innings.

In the second game, the District 22 Champions from Merritt Island LL (visitor) battled Palm Coast for 6 complete innings. For Merritt Island, Jayce Brandes and Kide Adetuyi each went 2-for-4 and scored 3 runs a piece while Robert Myer hit a 2 RBI double to lead Merritt Island to the 14-2 win.

MERRITT ISLAND 13, PALM COAST 1: The Merritt Island Little League 8/9/10 Baseball All-Stars met District 11’s St. Augustine Little League in their first game and won 9-6. In their second game, Merritt Island defeated District 19’s Palm Coast by the score of 13-1 to advance to the State of Florida Tournament at North Springs LL starting on July 15th.

Senior Baseball All-Star Action

PORT ST. JOHN 15, ST. AUGUSTINE 5: Port St. John’s Senior Baseball All-Stars met District 11 Champion St. Augustine in their first game and won 15-5, but lost their second game to District 19’s Arlington Little League by a score of 7-1.

Junior Softball At McKnight Family Sports Complex In Rockledge

SAN MATEO 7, PALM COAST 2: The first game saw the District 11 Champs from San Mateo Little League meet the District 19 Champs from Palm Coast. San Mateo’s Emily Smith had a double to help lead her team to the 7-2 victory in 7 innings. Megan Edmonds was the winning pitcher as Willow Rich picked up the save.

MIMS 9, PALM COAST 6: In the second game, the District 22 Champs from Mims Little League met Palm Coast. Grace Ledritch had 12 strikeouts for Palm Coast, but Mims’ Hanna Dohmlo struck out 7 on the way to a 9-6 win in 7 complete innings.

SAN MATEO 18, MIMS 0: The third game saw San Mateo against Mims Little League. San Mateo’s Savana Binkley hit a double and a triple while pitcher Willow Rich faced 16 Mims batters, striking out 10 and allowing 1 hit. District 11’s San Mateo won the game 18-0 in 5 innings and will advance to the State of Florida Tournament to be held in Cape Coral starting July 15.

South Brevard All-Stars Win District 2 Championship

SOUTH BREVARD 22, VERO BEACH 5: The South Brevard All-Star 10/11 year old softball team defeated the Vero Beach All-Star team in a double header on Saturday 22-5 and 13-3. The team advances to play at the state tournament next weekend at Rodes Park in West Melbourne.
