Bob Freeman’s Surf Report For August 12-14 In Brevard County

Waves are looking mostly unrideable this morning. Late-morning's lower tide could help make the small waves more rideable by then. Surfers seeking an early morning surf session may want to focus on Cocoa Beach's northernmost beaches for a longboardable wave.
Cocoa Beach ocean temperatures now average 78 degrees.

SURF REPORT FOR AUGUST 12-14

Bob Freeman has been surfing Brevard’s waves since 1966.Waves are not looking very fun this morning. There is plenty of northeasterly groundswell remaining, but onshore winds from passing storms are producing sloppy conditions.

Good Morning, Surfers!

Expect small scale surf with bumpy conditions through this weekend. Surfers with longboards or other more floaty surfboards will still be able to enjoy some surf time at most popular surfing locations.

Friday: Surfers this morning will find knee- to thigh-high waves with semi-bumpy conditions early from a southeasterly breeze. Early morning’s lower tide will help most spots produce longer rides.

Saturday: Wave heights will decrease into the mostly knee-high range with more bumpy conditions from a steady southeasterly wind.

Sunday: I believe a weak northeasterly groundswell source will increase the surf into the thigh-high range with bigger sets likely along Brevard’s southernmost beaches. Expected continuance of southeasterly winds will produce bumpy surface conditions again.

Cocoa Beach ocean temperatures now average 78 degrees.
