IOC AND LOCHTE'S COACH DENY REPORT
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL (FOX NEWS)– American superstar Ryan Lochte was held up at gunpoint in a terrifying attack while celebrating the end of the swimming meet in Rio, according to his mother.
Fox Sports News 500 was told Lochte was at a party he had been invited to by Brazilian swimmer Thiago Pereira when he and three teammates were robbed in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident has been denied by the International Olympics Committee and Lochte’s coach.
The 32-year-old’s mother Ileana told Fox Sports News 500 Lochte immediately rang her after the attack to tell her of the “terrifying” ordeal.
She and Lochte’s girlfriend were going to meet the 12-time Olympic medal-winning swimmer, who is now safe at Team USA’s training base.
