CANAVERAL PORT AUTHORITY COMMISSION

In the closest elections of the evening, the Canaveral Port Authority Commission races of Bob Harvey vs. Bruce Deardoff (District 4), and Glenn Willis vs. Micah Loyd (District 2), will go into a recount due to the photo finish of each race.

With 38,951 votes cast in the Willis vs. Loyd race, a mere 61 votes separate the candidates, currently in Loyd’s favor.

In the Harvey vs. Deardoff contest, Harvey currently has a 121 vote lead of the 39,344 cast.

According to the Supervisor of Elections Office, a recount of the the votes, plus the final tallying of 50 provisional ballots will determine the winners.

BREVARD COUNTY COMMISSION

• Republican Kristine Isnardi won the District 5 primary with 60 percent of the vote, She will now take on Anthony Talbott Schultz, a write-in candidate whose name will not appear on the ballot.

“I am honored and humbled have the support and confidence of Brevard County voters in District 5. I am thankful to my family and friends for their enormous amount of support,” said Isnardi. “I look forward to this enormous opportunity!”

• Republican John Tobia won the District 3 primary with 64 percent of the vote and will now face Democrat Randy Foster of Palm Bay in the General Election on Nov. 8.

Rita Pritchett

• Republican Rita Pritchett, who won with 58 percent of the primary vote, will now face Democrat Ron Taylor, who won with 63 percent of the vote, in the General Election on Nov. 8 for the District 1 seat.

BREVARD CLERK OF THE COURTS

• Scott Ellis defeated Trudy Infantini in the Brevard Clerk of the Circuit Court in the Republican primary race. Ellis will now take on former Cocoa Beach Mayor NPA candidate Dave Netterstrom in the General Election on Nov. 8.

BREVARD STATE RACES

Thad Altman
Thad Altman

• Republican Thad Altman defeated three opponents to take the State Representative District 52 primary with 34 percent of the primary vote.
• Republican Tom Goodson won the State Representative District 51 primary with 62 percent of the vote, and will now take on Democrat Mike Blake of Cocoa.
• Rene “Coach P” Plasencia won the State Representative District 50 primary with 52 percent of the vote.

• Republican Debbie Mayfield won the State Senator District 17 primary in a three-way race with 42 percent of the vote. Mayfield will now run against  Democrat Amy Tidd and a write-in candidate in the Nov. 8 general election.

BREVARD SCHOOL BOARD

• Tina Descovich won in District 3 with 48 percent of the vote in a four-way race.
• Matt Susin won in District 4 with 29.51 percent of the vote in a four-way race.

U.S. SENATE

• Republican Marco Rubio defeated his primary competition, garnering more than 70 percent of the vote. Rubio will now run against Democrat Patrick Murphy in the General Election on Nov. 8.
