BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA –Cocoa Beach Health & Fitness recently hosted a free self-defense seminar for women conducted by 5th degree black belt Sensei Des Chaskelson and the Cocoa Beach Karate students.

Over 50 women showed up to learn the basics of assault prevention strategies and self defense tactics and techniques.

Due to space limitations, the event was fully booked 10 days prior to the seminar, which indicates the strong demand for events such as this. Based on the success of this event, more events are being planned.

Sensei Des Chaskelson said, “Many of these dangerous situations can be avoided and we provide information and strategies on how to avoid danger and conflict before it arises, as well as basic techniques to use and targets to aim at if there is no option but to fight back.”
