Eastern Florida State College Women’s Soccer Remains No. 1 In Both Division I Polls

Titans are 4-0 overall and 1-0 in conference

The Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team remained No. 1 in both the NSCAA and NJCAA Division I Women’s Soccer polls this week.

The Titans, who are 4-0 and 1-0 on the season, remained in the top spot for the second straight week in the NSCAA Junior College Division I Women’s Soccer ranking.

Butler is back in the No. 2 spot with Monroe College out of N.Y. at No. 3.

Darton State, who will visit Titan Soccer Complex on Sept. 23, remained at No. 10. In the NJCAA ranking, Paradise Valley is No. 2 with Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa No. 3. Butler is four and Tyler No. 5.

In the Titans last game, the team opened the Region 8 conference season with a 1-0 victory over Broward College last Thursday night.

The Titans, who improved to 4-0 overall with the win, were scoreless most of the game which was delayed due to lightning in the area.

But Nathali Da Silva found the back of the net in the final four minutes of regulation on an assist from Jay Bales to give the Titans the win.  It was Da Silva’s team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Eastern Florida State College will play a couple of exhibition games at home before hosting No. 10 Darton State College on Sept. 23.
