BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The No. 1 nationally-ranked Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team opened the Region 8 conference season with a 1-0 victory over Broward College Thursday night.

The Titans, who improved to 4-0 overall with the win, were scoreless most of the game which was delayed due to lightning in the area. But Nathali Da Silva found the back of the net in the final four minutes of regulation on an assist from Jay Bales to give the Titans the win.

It was Da Silva’s team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Eastern Florida State College will play a couple of exhibition games at home before hosting No. 10 Darton State College on Sept. 23.
