A Cocoa police officer suffered non-life threatening injuries after a suspect fled an attempted traffic stop Thursday evening.
Cocoa Police officers are searching for a suspect in a hit-and-run crash investigation that left a 32-year-old man injured, according to Yvonne Martinez of the Cocoa Police Department.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police officers are searching for a suspect in a hit-and-run crash investigation that left a 32-year-old man injured Tuesday, according to Yvonne Martinez of the Cocoa Police Department.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the area of SR 524 near I-95.

In a release by police, the victim was reportedly walking westbound off the roadway when, according to witnesses, a white minivan traveling at a high rate of speed ran off the road striking the man.

The victim was hit by the vehicle’s passenger side mirror which was found at the scene. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

The victim was with his girlfriend who was not injured.

The couple were walking home after a trip to a nearby restaurant.

Patrol officers are searching for a white minivan with damage to the right passenger side of the vehicle including a missing mirror.
